In collaboration with the Geodynamics and Climate Research Group at McGill University, I created a schematic illustrating sea level feedback and water expulsion mechanisms. The purpose of this figure was to summarize visually how melting of the Antarctic Ice Sheet causes sea level rise, including the effects of vertical uplift from the solid Earth and water expulsion. The seafloor shape and ice extent were carefully drawn using model outputs. The figure was featured in The influence of realistic 3D mantle viscosity on Antarctica’s contribution to future global sea levels, published in Science Advances (Gomez et al., 2024).
