I had the pleasure of working with Discover the Universe, an astronomy training program for elementary and secondary teachers across Canada, to create a series of bilingual climate science illustrations for a conference presentation.
A simple Earth system radiative balance, illustrating the greenhouse gas effect.
A schematic demonstrating the characteristics of the electromagnetic (EM) spectrum, including the relationship between energy, frequency, and wavelength. Also included are typical examples in astronomy where different types of EM radiation are emitted.
The 5 main greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are carbon dioxide, methane, water vapour, nitrous oxide and ozone.  These absorb and re-emit infrared radiation from the Earth's surface.
